So I have moved to Washington, PA with Jory, and we got a sweet little apartment, and I have started working in Greene County PA as the Housing Coordinator. It is a great job and I have enjoyed it so far, and I am gaining tremendous experience. I got two articles in the paper the other day with a couple quotes, that made me pretty excited. Check it out!

Hey so it has been awhile since I have put a post up, but a lot has happened, including my wedding on Feb. 15, 2009 and then a short stint in the Dominican Republic. I will be sure to get some pictures up soon, however you can check out the article in the Pleasanton Weekly.

For those of you who know me I love fondue. It is great being able to relax and eat at your leisure, and just makes a great night being able to socialize over a hot pot of food. Also, chicks love fondue, fondue restaurants are a great date, and if you got the skills like me and your own fondue pot, making your own will really make them impressed. For Jory's birthday I decided to make her dinner, and surprised her with a night of fondue at my house, with the main fondue being a Crab and Cheddar fondue. I liked it so much that I decided to share the recipe.

3/4 cup Hard Cider or Beer

1 tbs Lemon Juice

Pinch Sugar

1 lb Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

2 tbs Flour

7 oz Lump Crabmeat

1/2 tsp Sea Salt

Hot Pepper Flakes

Heat cider, lemon juice and sugar on low, Slowly mix in cheese and flour while stirring, Warm crabmeat separately (oven or microwave) Add crabmeat, salt and Hot Pepper Flakes to cheese

Youth Trip to the Outer Banks

I got to spend the weekend on a youth trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. I have wanted to get down there for a long time now, and I finally was able to make the trip. It is beautiful, you will be driving down a stretch of highway and look to your left and can see the ocean a quarter mile away and then look to your right and also see the ocean a quarter mile away. I got to think of some games for the weekend which is always fun, best game of the weekend, I hid whip-cream, pie tins, and cherries around a neighborhood, and the students had to find all three items and assemble a pie and then through it in someone's face. I also got to meet my girlfriend Jory's parents which went well. Overall, a great trip, I would definitely recommend this for a vacation, I could imagine it would be awesome in the summer.

Well, it's been fun for a couple weeks hanging in Pleasanton. It was good to see everyone, and spend some time with friends and family. Top 5 things of my break in Pleasanton

5. Redcoats, a new bar, that just opened up, and me and ty-town have been known to go there multiple times in the same day. (See Pictures)

4. Going to Bakersfield - Most people think it sucks but I actually like a few things about it

3. Serving at the Haight Ashbury Food Program on Christmas with the Family

2. Eating all the avocados I want, seriously I love being home because it is like being in a supermarket but everything is free.

1. Fondue for New Years, a great time hanging with some really good friends in a great little fondue restaurant in berkeley, Fondue Freds.

One amazing church

The church I attend in Virginia Beach is known as KPC, Kempsville Presbyterian Church. It truly is an amazing church. Surprisingly it is a Presbyterian church that is extremely charismatic. It is much different than the church I grew up in, and it comes complete with people waving banners, women and children dancing in the aisles, the ability to stop the service at any moment and share what's on your heart. It reminds me of an early church in the book of Acts for some reason. It's socially and politically involved, yet still biblically centered. It is full of creative individuals of all ages, that are able to express that creativity in whatever way they feel led. All in all, I really do love this church, and somehow I wish more churches could progress in the way that KPC has done.

Semester/Schooling coming to an end

It's my final semester of school, probably for the rest of my life, which is awesome but a little intimidating. After this it's, finding a place to live, a job I like, and the rest of the fittings needed to complete someone's life. The semester has been great, but the end of anything always scares me, fortunately I bought myself some time with signing a year long lease. It looks like i'll be interning for the City of Chesapeake, VA next semester in their neighborhood services department, and then i'll be walking at graduation in may. The last few weeks have been fun aside from studying and trying to get through my last semester, we had a Christmas formal at school, i've spent some good time with my roommates, I had the opportunity today to help out my friend who is a youth pastor at one of her youth events, and the weather has been amazing. With that said, i'll be home on the 19th for 2 weeks at looking forward to every minute.

Weirdest Thanksgiving of my life

By far one of the weirdest thanksgivings of my life. Since I wasn't going to make it home for thanksgiving, I decided to go up to Washington DC. My buddy Moog "Long Hair" was going to be in town with his brother little Moog, on their way to South Africa. They had about 24 hours in DC so it made time for a decent tour. Typical Moog, always being a gypsy, finds a hostel in downtown DC. I had never heard of it before but it was in a decent location about 5 blocks from the White House in NW DC. I got to DC around 12pm on Thanksgiving Day, but their plane wasn't coming in until around 5pm so I had some time to chill by myself. I figured the only place that would be open was Starbucks so I headed down to my favorite one on 3rd St. A homeless man stopped me on my way, and asked me for some money I told him I wouldn't give him any, but that I would get him something to eat, so I went into Starbucks and got 2 turkey sandwhiches, and we sat outside for several hours eating our food as he told me about how I needed to open up an off shore account due to the amazing interest rates that I would receive. I love taking financial advise from homeless people. Eventually I headed down to the airport, picked up the Moog's and we went to our hostel. In my mind I figured their probably wouldn't be anyone staying at a hostel on Thanksgiving Day, but was I ever wrong. It was actually pretty crowded. However we were the only Americans. We got suckered into eating their $5 Thanksgiving meal which included live music. The music was one man on a banjo, playing John Denver's Greatest Hits. The rest of the trip included a grand tour of the city. There is nothing like celebrating an American holiday with a frenchman (attempting to explain to him what cranberry sauce is) and celebrating a day of Thanks with a homeless man, who really has not much to be thankful for.

Bring me back to the Livermore Valley

I am by no means a wine expert but after my short stint working at Wente vineyards and Murrietas well, I feel that at least have a taste for good wine. However I recently experienced Virginia Wines for the first time at Williamsburg Winery. I must say that I was more than disappointed. It was very beautiful, and I did end up purchasing a bottle to drink in a park near the College of William and Mary, but CA wines are definitely in a league of their own in regards to other states attempts.

I recently got into a new show, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" if you have not experienced one of the funniest shoes ever created than you are in for a treat. Any show that can make light of such social issues like race, sexual orientation, and physical handicaps deserves our attention.

After a long awaited departure from the blogosphere I have decided to return, mainly due to the prompting of my buddy Super Ty Town and the creation of his joint blog of roommates entitled "The Cond." Hopefully unlike my past attempts at blogging this will last more than a week or so.
